The following are expectations are agreed upon by the entire 8th grade...
Grade book Guidelines: (always communicate with your teachers if you have questions or need accomodations)
1. Only water is allowed in the classrooms for drinking (unless you are finishing school breakfast and you must finish in the first 5 minutes of class).
2. Backpacks are discouraged - if you have them, they must not obstruct walkways or you must remove them.
3. Students must use planners or a calendar for their Bathroom Passes - they get two a day.
4. Quiet, individual, healthy snacking is allowed at teacher discretion - abuse it, you lose it!
5. YOU MUST COME PREPARED TO CLASS: this means your basics - pens, pencils, paper, planner, books (you probably need scissors, highlighters, rulers, etc. ). Failure to come to class prepared will result in a tardy as you will now need to get supplies.

- “m” means the assignment is missing, but can be made up
- it will score as a zero so the student knows what their grade will be if they don’t make it up
- even if you make up a “missing” assignment, it can still be counted “late” and lose points – check with your teacher to see how much time you have to make up the work (based on length of absence, if it is school related or not, etc.)
- all late work must be submitted before the last week of the quarter (obviously work that is occurring during that week is an exception)! We are not grading 20 projects from the first of the quarter because you did not meet your deadlines.
- a zero in the grade book means you cannot make it up, the grade is final
- blank means that the assignment is pending (grading takes time :-) )
